2020 SYFC Game-Day Program

UpdatedSunday October 25, 2020 byGeorge Mullin.

LS Youth Football is committed to the growth of our sport in a safe and fun environment.  We offer opportunities to learn and play the game starting in 1st grade and our program completes at the end of the 8th-grade season.

We start the younger players with Flag Football in grades 1 through 5 where they learn the fundamentals of the game: positions, throwing, passing, catching, running basic offensive and defensive plays.  It is important to our program that participants are having fun playing this great game in a safe and controlled environment.

In grades 6 thru 8, we provide our tackle program.  We teach our players how to play the game as a team. They develop blocking and tackling skills right away and learn to function where everyone has a job to do on each and every play.  We teach the Hawk tackle introduced by the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks.  This tackle approach is similar to the approach used in Rugby around the world and the goal of the Hawk tackle is to take the head out of the tackle and it is very effective in maintaining player safety.

This season we needed to call an audible in order to have a season and modified our program to a "NO CONTACT" 7 vs 7 passing league to align with the Covid 19 protocols.  Attached is our 2020 Game Day Program that has the schedule, teams, and advertising from our sponsors.
